An introduction to Rules of Origin

From March 16, 2021 09:00 until March 16, 2021 10:00

We appreciate that the first few weeks since the end of the transition period has proved difficult for many businesses so we will be running a series of events on areas of most interest to companies in the region.

These sessions are delivered as part of our Brexit service designed to help companies in North Lancashire deal with the difficulties after the end of the transition period after leaving the European Union.

Delivered by Paul Walters FSCM MIEx, International Trade Advisor at North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, Powered by Boost; Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub and in partnership with Lancaster City Council, the fully funded service is part of the comprehensive information and advisory service offered to businesses involved in importing and exporting.

This session is designed to introduce you to Rules of Origin

Rules of origin are the criteria needed to determine the national source of a product. Their importance is derived from the fact that duties and restrictions in several cases depend upon the source of imports. There is wide variation in the practice of governments with regard to the rules of origin.

Over the course of an hour we will introduce you and how to use them.
