From May 30, 2017 17:30 until May 30, 2017 19:00

Susan Parsonage is the recently appointed Chief Executive Officer of Lancaster City Council. Susan will be talking about the District as a whole and the Council’s plans going forward. It will be the first time for many of Morecambe’s businesses to meet her.

Dr. David Jarratt is a Senior Lecturer @ UCLan in the division of Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management which sits in the School of Management. He will be talking about wellness & nostalgia as they relate to leisure and tourism and how it can be applied to Morecambe.

David Brayshaw, the organiser of Morecambe Carnival, will also be addressing the meeting about getting Morecambe businesses interacting with people attending our festivals and events as a way of increasing business  in Morecambe shopping precinct and helping footfall through town.

Gill Grattan runs Reconnect Dementia training. Her company offers consultancy and training for businesses to understand their customers and adapt the experience and environment on offer. She will be running a free, 15-minute taster session on how being dementia aware for retailers can benefit business, especially with Morecambe being a leisure destination for older people.

After the event you will have the opportunity to take a tour behind the scenes at Galloway's new state of the art home on Victoria Street.

Morecambe BID and Lancaster & District Chamber of Commerce representatives will also be present for you to ask any questions and to hear about their exciting initiatives for 2017.
