Cancercare launches new website with help from Hotfoot Design
People affected by cancer can now get easier access to support and information from CancerCare, thanks to the charity’s new look website.
CancerCare, which serves North Lancashire and South Cumbria, tasked award-winning branding, digital and marketing agency, Hotfoot Design, with modernising the charity’s website to make it fresher and more user friendly.
The site has been launched at www.cancercare.org.uk and offers a refreshed and updated way for people to find out about how to access CancerCare’s services for themselves or loved ones, as well as how to support the charity, team profiles and latest news. The new look website has an intuitive layout and design and is responsive across different devices, such as mobile and tablet.
The website will be regularly updated with news of upcoming events, campaigns and client stories. Visitors can also now register to receive news and events information via the website’s new subscribe function.
Lancaster-based Hotfoot Design was chosen for the job, thanks to the team’s broad experience of delivering websites for similar organisations. The agency was also given the job of revamping the CancerCare brand with a new colour palette and fonts, whilst retaining the familiar look that the people of North Lancashire and South Cumbria know and trust.
CancerCare is a unique independent charity dedicated to helping people affected by cancer and other potentially life limiting conditions living in North Lancashire and South Cumbria. Over the last 35 years, CancerCare has worked with and helped more than 30,000 people in the region.
CancerCare Chief Executive Maria Chambers said: “The majority of people now access services and information online and an easy to use, attractive website is a necessity in the digital age. With a clean, uncluttered and functional design, this new website forms part of CancerCare’s efforts to enhance our digital communication streams to reach as many people as we can.
“We are delighted with it and I am sure it will be more engaging and informative and encourage visitors to browse through everything we have to offer, from exciting fundraising events to the free therapies and support services we provide. We will also be using the new site to tell the inspirational stories of people we have helped in a compelling new way.”
Hotfoot’s work with CancerCare is the latest in a number of high-profile projects for the agency, which was recently recognised as Creative Business of the Year at the 2019 Red Rose Awards.
Charlie Haywood, Founder and Partner of Hotfoot Design said: “CancerCare is a much-loved local charity here in Lancaster and one that provides an invaluable service for people across our region, so it has been a joy to work with them on this exciting and important project.
“It’s essential that, particularly in times of need, people can find information quickly and easily. Through a cleaner, more intuitive layout and updated photography, it’s now clearer what services the charity provides, how people can access them, and how they can play their part in supporting CancerCare’s essential services through fundraising or volunteering.
“We have also subtly updated the CancerCare brand, with fresher typefaces and colours, preserving the familiarity of this well known charity, whilst bringing it thoroughly up to date.”
Hotfoot Design works across a wide range of sectors including hospitality and leisure, business to business and the third sector. Recent clients in the charity and not-for-profit sector include youth homelessness prevention charity Breathing Space Lancashire, The Nuffield Family Justice Observatory, Lambeth Early Action Partnership (LEAP) and NeuroDropIn, a Lancaster charity that provides support for people with neurological conditions.
