Chamber Chat with Tarnia Elsworth

Happy New Year!

I hope this Chamber Chat finds you well, having had a wonderful festive period with your loved ones.

I am excited to be back in the office, ready to get 2024 underway, and I am specifically excited to see what’s in store for Lancaster and Morecambe Chamber of Commerce this year.

Chris, the board, and I worked hard at the end of last year to review our position, and to set strategy for the coming years.

Growth, strength in diversity, representation, and cementing a long-term home for our wonderful chamber of commerce are at the fore of our plans.

Our new membership officer starts with us in January, a dynamic and vibrant appointment will see new members joining us in the coming months, please welcome Charlotte warmly to her role.

We are in the process of recruiting a Head of Operations, a key role, this appointment will enable LMCoC to represent our business community with key local stakeholders and ensure that your voices and views are heard on key local issues.

We are working closely with the Churches Conservation Trust on the ‘Chamber at St. John’s’ project, to ensure that we have a long-term, sustainable home for our members and the wider business community to work together. Your views on this project are welcomed here: The Chamber at St John’s Survey (office.com)

And lastly, following our EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) project, study and report with students from Lancaster University in 2023, I will be bringing together a steering group to discuss how LMCoC can work towards being a true representation of the district that we serve by ensuring that all of our business/ charity community are catered for within our chamber. If you would like to work with me on that please send me an email: tarnia@tpfinancialsolutions.co.uk I would love your views and input.

All the best for 2024. I am excited to work with you this year and look forward to catching up at a LMCoC event soon!
