Coming soon! Climate change local plan review
The Council’s Cabinet agreed to formally start the Climate Change Review of the local plan on Tuesday 15th September. Subject to call-in, the council will soon be considering climate change in more detail in a review of the recently adopted Local Plan.
They would like your views on this and will be running a consultation from 25th September to 20th November 2020.
They will send out further details on the consultation on 25th September 2020. We will also let other people know about this in various ways and plan to hold several targeted online workshops/meetings with relevant people and organisations.
The council are aiming to publish an updated Local Plan for consultation in January 2021. Councillors will then be asked to consider a final version in June 2021.
Help to identify brownfield sites
The council is planning to review the council's 'brownfield register' (a list which identifies all known brownfield land available for development) and would like your help with identifying potential sites.
If you are aware of (or you own) a brownfield site that you think is suitable for residential development, they would appreciate it if you would let them know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 13th November 2020 (for inclusion in the December review).
The Council is committed to encouraging the development and regeneration of brownfield land. The development of appropriate brownfield sites has many benefits including providing more opportunities for sustainable development, regeneration, improvement to the character and appearance of our urban areas and the provision of housing where many local services already exist.
Please note: Site suggestions received after Friday 13th November will be included in the 2021 review. More details can be found on the brownfield register web page.
