Extra Energy announced on the 21st November 2018 it will cease to trade.
If Extra Energy are your current supplier your supply will not be affected and in due time OFGEM will announce which supplier will take over your supply.
Inspired Energy advise in this uncertain time is to take advantage of your opportunity to re-evaluate your requirements.
How can Inspired Energy help?
Will I keep my tariff or will my bills go up?
Ofgem says that your current contract – whether you're on a fixed or variable tariff – will end when you join the new supplier, and you'll be placed on what's known as a 'deemed' tariff. These are often more expensive.
However, in the past we've seen some suppliers honour existing tariffs when taking over from a supplier that's ceased trading – though not always.
You won't be charged exit fees if you decide to switch.
The opportunity is now for you to change to a new supplier of your choice as your current contract is no longer valid due to the cease of trading of Extra Energy.
It is imperative that you act today to avoid any uncertainties.
