Morecambe Bay Wills & Estates joins Cancer Care's Profit Pledge scheme
Chamber member, Nicola Combe of Morecambe Bay Wills and Estates is one of the first businesses to be involved in CancerCare’s recently launched “Profit Pledge” initiative. The initiative aims to encourage local businesses to show their support for the community by making a regular donation to CancerCare to support the work undertaken by the teams based in Lancaster, Kendal and Barrow.
Nicola’s relationship with CancerCare began in 2017 when her husband Jim was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and the couple were referred to them for support. The therapy was a huge help to Jim as he faced his treatment and to Nicola after Jim lost his battle in 2018.
Inspired by problems she experienced getting her own financial affairs in order in the months that followed, she set up her own Will-writing business specifically to provide affordable peace of mind for families and raise funds for CancerCare by making a 5% donation from every invoice raised. Last year her burgeoning business benefitted CancerCare to the tune of more than £1,300, and the target for 2021 is at least £1500.
