Lancaster Photographer's US Booking

Lancaster photographer and Chamber member Steve Pendrill is no stranger to taking bookings from further afield, but when he got an email from Kansas USA recently about a wedding blessing in Caton, it certainly raised an eyebrow.

US couple Melissa and Shawn, who share their surname and an ancestral link with the village chose it as the location for their wedding blessing and snapped up Steve as their photographer. The event took place earlier this month at Caton Methodist Church and the autumn colours at the Crook O’ Lune certainly made for a beautiful backdrop for their portraits. Many of the congregation joined in on the day, not least because it was the church’s first wedding event for over twenty years.

Steve, an ex Lancaster Guardian staff photographer with over 30 years experience, has a journalistic instinct as well as an understanding for the value of publicity. He put together an interesting article for the paper, which they published the following week.

Steve said ‘I always offer a caring personal touch when it comes to dealing with customers, none more so than with weddings and it was a delight to be part of this particular couple’s day. I must admit that at first I wasn’t sure if it was for real, as it was so unusual, but I’m glad it was and they were thrilled with their photography.’
