Rock and Road Training is welcomed by the Chamber

Gordon began his career as a student with Bardon (Aggregate Industries UK Ltd) working his way through various operational and managerial roles including a secondment to the Overall Equipment Efficiency Team led by the parent company Holcim (Worlds Biggest Cement Manufacturer), before joining Lafarge Tarmac as Operations Manager in 2014. At Lafarge Tarmac, Gordon’s role was to co-ordinate and prepare the business to deliver all of the construction materials for the Bay Gateway, including delivering an increase in production of over 100% Gordon and his team at Leapers Wood Quarry delivered the whole supply contract with Zero Accidents!

His strong belief that a quality choice of outsourcing options can help to develop a more strategic focus on core values and business, led him to Babcock International where, as Area Business Manager, he was responsible for health and safety, fleet management, maintenance, and environmental and quality compliance. It is from here that Gordon joined United Plant Services as National Business Development Manager.

With a passion for developing teams and individuals Gordon began to reflect on his skills, role and the business opportunity. Seeing a gap in the market for a professional, operationally experienced training company Gordon launched Rock and Road Training.

Rock and Road Training has a focus on the clients needs and objectives, tailoring and delivering bespoke and customised training to best suit the need. For example with Harley-Davidson we work to deliver various training programmes from marketing and communication to relationships and roadcraft. The courses are delivered with working tasks, coaching and mentoring to not only encourage the candidates to learn but to have developed work that can be introduced immediately following the training.

My greatest enjoyment has always come from operational change, development and driving for efficiency. With Rock and Road Training I can take my knowledge skills and experience combine it with my desire to help others learn and develop and do just that.
