Businesses stepping up for the Foodbank - Paddy Hunt
Lancaster District has a terrific community of businesses, filled with people who are never afraid to go the extra mile to help out, especially at the moment. As a trustee at Morecambe Bay Foodbank, which has found itself at the front line of this pandemic, I never cease to be amazed by the generosity shown by business people across the District.
From our very own Alistair Eagles who is doing a 400 mile "Zwift Cycle Challenge" with his family to raise money for us who has raised over £11,500 (to date) for the Foodbank.

Connect 2 Cleanrooms who have donated gloves and masks.
Abigail Capstick at Parkhouse Barn who gave us hand sanitizer when we couldn't locate any.
Simon Harwood at Packforce Ltd supplied us with boxes when we couldn't find another supplier anywhere.
Hotfoot Design worked night and day to get a website built for us.
Premierline who donated £500 to us as the pandemic hit.
Speights and Whitewells, who have been supplying us with regular deliveries to ensure we keep up with demand.
The team at Cloud2 IT who were instrumental in setting up our IT and telephone systems at Salt Ayre
Morecambe Football Club, Standfast Barracks, Westgate Tyres and Design Plus who have all been long term supporters of the Foodbank and have continued to provide invaluable support through this difficult time.
Our Charity has gone into partnership with the City Council and has moved to Salt Ayre Leisure Centre as a result of the pandemic and as of this week we will have delivered food to over 5,000 households in six weeks. Much of the demand is coming from older residents who are self isolating, and being able to help and support vulnerable people at such a time and on such a scale is fantastic. We simply couldn't do it without the help and support of a brilliant business community, and it makes a huge difference to us to know that there are businesses out there who will help us if they can.
Thanks to all our supporters, and all those businesses who commit to supporting any charities in the District. These partnerships help to make this a really special place to live and work.
