The North Lancs Expo is back for its third year running

Lancaster and District Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce that the third North Lancs Expo will take place on Friday 20th September and Saturday 21st September at the Lancaster Brewery. Unlike most other Expos where the focus is solely on Business to Business, the North Lancs Expo will focus both on Business to Business and Business to Consumer, with the Saturday’s emphasis being on training, skills, education and the future workplace. Following on from the theme set with the inaugural North Lancs Expo in 2017, the Friday will be a networking and information day for businesses, and the Saturday will be more of a family day, with interactive exhibits and displays.

2018 was the second year the Chamber ran the North Lancs Expo and it was better than the previous year’s extremely successful launch. Not only is it the largest Expo in the North West, it is also the most inclusive in terms of breadth of offering.

Whilst the title of the Expo is “North Lancs Expo”, The Chamber is intent that it should represent the ever-growing co-operation of businesses around the Morecambe Bay Economic region. We are becoming a very economically important area within the energy generation, defence, education, and transport industries, without mentioning the new £41 million Health Innovation Campus at Lancaster University moving closer to fruition. The Health Innovation Campus will create a world-class centre of excellence for innovation and research in health. By bringing together innovators, academics, entrepreneurs, businesses, local government, citizens and health care providers, it will drive advances in technologies, products and ways of working to improve health and healthcare.

In addition, the exciting news that the Eden Project had chosen Morecambe as it’s preferred second site in the United Kingdom means that the area is gaining in importance as a growth hub for leisure and tourism. The supply chain that Eden promises to create will make Expo a must for many businesses this year.

Vicky Lofthouse, Chief Executive Officer of The Chamber, said: “This is the third year that we have run the Expo and each year gets more exciting with different exhibitors and industries.

“We know the problems that the area faces – skills shortages and skills retention and the Expo is the first opportunity to talk directly to the next generations about what a wonderful area we have to live, work and play in. For too long the lure of the major cities has beckoned many of our youngsters away but we see no reason why we shouldn’t keep our future talent to ourselves.

“In addition, with the UK leaving the European Union, it’s an ideal time to increase the volume on the conversation regarding exporting and importing for our local and regional firms.”

Sponsorship of this event will allow an organisation to cement new business relationships through a mix of formal conference/seminar sessions and informal networking opportunities.

The North Lancashire Business Expo is brought to you by Lancaster & District Chamber of Commerce in association with Lancaster City Council. The Expo is kindly sponsored by Apparatus Marketing, Workshop Media, Nick Dagger Photography and Media Partners Lancashire Business View.
