The Lancashire Careers Hub

The Lancashire Careers Hub is part of a national Hub network driven by the Careers and Enterprise Company and locally through Lancashire Enterprise Partnership and Inspira which strengthens the relationship between education and business to ensure Lancashire has the future skilled workforce it needs to support its growing economy.

The Careers Hub has grown from an initial 24 schools in 2016 to one which now supports 154 secondary schools, colleges and special schools across Lancashire with a primary aim to improve the career prospects of thousands of young people. All the schools and colleges within Lancashire Carers Hub have a shared vision of how they will work together to improve outcomes for the young people in their area.

The Careers Hub does this by engaging businesses and employers in the local area with senior leadership and career leaders within schools to come together and help create a careers programme in each school that enables young people to understand local Labour Market Information, explore career opportunities and expand their networks through a wide range of encounters and experiences.

If you or your business would like to give something back to your community and get involved supporting the next generation, then there are a range of options available. This could be supporting schools with mock interviews, to volunteering as an Enterprise Adviser with one school for the academic year and giving up a few hours each month to work with the school staff to embed high quality careers provision for all students, or even offering students the chance to undertake work experience or apprenticeships within your company.

You only need to sign up and then a Pledge Partner, who is an expert, will get in touch with you to find out more about employer facing skills and training initiatives and to achieve your Pledge.
